#1653 RE: ConferredDiligence #1652

Rubicon has been a premium/"strong" exploration play for a long time since they are in a great mining area, have an awesome deposit, cash, an epic land package second only to GG, good infrastructure, management, security etc so that is probably where your misconception came from. They have all the hallmarks of a great, profitable mine, they just haven't quite made it yet. The area is full of awesome mines.

As for McEwen he took the easy money off the table (bought low, sold in the $4s, 2010) and has always maintained his original position:

“Rubicon was and continues to be a great company. They have excellent management, an important discovery, and a strong treasury with which to explore and develop it. The Company has grown to represent a disproportionate share of my stock portfolio for an investment where I am not actively involved in management. This step is designed to focus my interests in the companies I run, US Gold Corporation and Minera Andes.” -Rob Sept 2010

Which ultimately merged and became Mux (McEwen Mining - another interesting stock). (Sidenote- I bet Rob would like RMX in MUX since he is the most qualified to run it ATM having taken Goldcorp from an obscure 50 million company to a Red Lake producer to one of the largest multi billion dollar gold companies on earth.) I bet Goldcorp is watching the Rubicon saga at the moment with vulture's glee.

Related/unrelated Factoid: The 2nd largest Mexus shareholder after the CEO is the once upon a time 2nd largest shareholder from McEwen's US Gold, known for visiting the property, becoming convinced of its success, and then staunchly accumulating shares for 10-25 cents during a gold bear market and then flipping them for ~$10 a few years later. I think he is convinced Mexus is a way better opportunity than UXG. He has done this multiple times in a row and so have I. I don't care what other people do with their money but you might be kicking yourself for not buying at least a token position before the "Becoming a Millionaire with Mexus Gold" articles become too commonplace.
