The thing is, the eastern DRC has calmed down and this company is incredibly important to the area. Banks like ecobank are used to much worse situations. I worked on restructuring balance sheets in Rwanda in 2011 for companies that were hit with penalties and interest going back to the Genocide, 1994.
The gov't knows how important for profit companies are to the region since most of their budgets are from foreign aid which is bad long term.
They wouldnt just allow the equity to be wiped out, a major PR disaster for attracting foreign direct investment.
Having said that, this company is nowhere near BK. This is just about to turn the corner.
