The statement from GE that they expect production in "late 2015" does not equate to me that production, let alone full scale production is merely "days" away - perhaps the units are weeks or even months.

I do agree that it is disconcerting to not have an announcement of a contract and delivery. However, given the long standing ongoing relationship between GE and SGLB - even longer if one considers that the SGLB - Morris Technology predates the SGLB - GE direct connection, it would not surprise me at all that there is an understanding that a contract would be formed and announced only after DEFORM is released, thus no contract or announcement as of yet.
