I find it strange that one would consider giving money away just for a tax write off. I have heard about that, but never really witnessed it. It is more like they perpetuate a previous scam. Usually as circle of shady characters trading faces to start their share selling circus again.
A legitimate company that has income will start his own so it will not be scarred. People with cash do not buy wrecked rebuilt cars, they buy new ones.
