This is one metric. You need to look at other metrics too if you want to have all the facts. There are debts, products in the pipeline, management, sector and many others. Look at AAPL:
Book Value Per Share (mrq): 22.03. Yet, the stock is trading at 5X book value at $113, and loaded with debt.
