General Electric (GE -0.9%) promotes the top executive in its power business, Vic Abate, to become its new chief technology officer, overseeing ~50K employees and nine research centers, Bloomberg reports.

Abate replaces Mark Little, who is retiring after 37 years at the company; Joe Mastrangelo, a leader in the oil and gas unit, will succeed Abate as CEO of power generation.

GE has announced several high-level personnel changes in recent weeks, including its chief marketing officer, chief information officer and CEO of the transportation division.

I don't get what your trying to say but you shouldn't generalize all Americans. The "likes of me" are focused on redefining our country through new financial innovations and manufacturing. I hate old Americans crying about how bad things are now. We have the best of the best in damn near every category. If some will be lazy some will have great opportunity to lead the world.

You sound old and grumpy so you've probably read Atlas Shrugged and know how this plays out.

You can't stop the mind and the best of them reside here so quit down talking your country.... Or leave and keep your integrity. Nobody wants to hear grown men whine smh.

But GE is the right place to be.
