Yea I will believe DVDs go away when I see it. I know VHS is gone, but that is because DVDs are here. I just don't see hard copy media going away for a while. MP3s have started the revolution in music, but CDs are still selling and my friends and I still burn CDs for each other.

You just cannot replace taking a DVD with you to a friends house to watch a movie. I know someday we will have a device that will have the movie on it, but I think it will be a long time before it is mainstream.

Somehow I feel like I have became the center of a controvercy and I don't mean to be. To put things into perspective, I'm driving a 1997 model vehicle, have never played a video game in my life other than pac-man many, many years ago, and din't own a dvd player until nearly a year after buying stock in GZFX. I don't have a home theater. Wouldn't know a woofer from a tweeter if sat before me. So please, take me out of the center of this. I do think dvds will be around for several more years but from what I have experienced with downloads it appears the download will be the MAJOR method of seeing movies of your choice within 5 years.
