1. No reasonable investor expects institutions to always pick "winners." Institutional investment is just one of many metrics to consider. The same can be said for insider holdings. Continuing to focus solely on insider holdings, imo, will not lead to good investment choices. 2. I doubt that any institution thinks it's good to sometimes lose money; I presume you were joking.
