I agree. Just looking from the outside, their drug product is unregulated!. untested! Its medicine without any accountability to any oversight. wether for profit or non profit, its unheard of anywhere in canada! like that guy in vancouver doing dentistry out of his home with no qualifaications or lisence. Hes in Jail now. These big hearted dispensary owners should be fighting be on the right side of the law. lobbying MP's instead of pretending what their doing is ok for anyone other than themselves.

Vancouver is going to implode. Infighting, Vancouver City wanting to regulated you and let you exist. You like that they wish to make you legitimate and part of the cities system but you don't like the price and the restrictions. Some get called out for playing along, where do your rights end?

Health Canada is completely against you, your city wants to offer support but you don't like the price, dispensaries are rivals with their own agendas - and now the second round of attacks on your system begin.

Health Canada, with the help of the RCMP and local police where applicable - are going after the illegal cannabis trade. Where ever somebody has the name of a strain and a price you got advertising and trafficking. They will file in the court for a formal cease and desist and from there it is up to the dispensary owner how far he wants to take it.

Look to C-17, the key is there. A law that gives the Minister of Health the regulatory framework to file for a federal injunction against people advertising (that is marketing in anyway, offering up for sale, advertising is anything they want it to be) drugs and products in violation of the Food the Drug Act, a cornerstone of Canada's consumer safety law!

They can file a court order for you to stop BEFORE they arrest you and prosecute you for a crime. So they offer you a choice, some may comply, have a sale and shut down cleanly and quietly - others will be raided and everything will be taken away from them - and they will have the additional crime of disobeying a court order to worry about - that makes bail a bitch.

13 is just the beginning - if they effectively shut down the first 13, if they are holding a dispensary owner in jail for non compliance and all 13 are closed up - what effect will another round of emails have?

If you don't know C-17, then you don't know what is coming. Now they can shut you down while threatening you with years behind bars. Two laws and two violations to defend, means your coalition needs to take another trip up the court system looking for your rights - while the clients you serve are disrupted and displaced.

And on and on it will go while the government and any conceivable government that may arise from the election will support the LP's along with millions in investor and customer money - while tax dollars are used to shut you down.

If Vancouver Police really have more important things to do, they won't mind having some help from the outside - even if you don't want it and you think it isn't fair, our society is going to insist you don't make a permanent unregulated publicly distributed pharmaceutical cottage industry - the coalition's views on personal and economic freedom don't comply with socialism

Question. What will the tax structure be like for a for profit medical dispensary in VanCity? (or Not For profit for that matter )

Ok, So I get a 30K shakedown from the City. Do I now report this as a business expense to CRA for my sole proprietorship For Profit (or NFP) Medical Marijuana Dispensary?

Do I Now report that I Increased my Inventory in my first year to 1,200,000 grams at an average of less than $2 a gram, valued at $2,400,000?

Do I report the cost of purchasing these grams from ( Unidentified MMAR Grower)? With no purchase receipts, so therefore Im not able to claim expenses?

Do I report my sales to CRA? This year I sold 1,000,000 Grams, here are the receipts? Here are the tax remittances?

Does the CRA then forward these tax dollars from this Illegal operation to the (Hopefully no longer ) Federal Conservative Government?

Where does this start to make sense?

Here is a conundrum. No Vancity Licenses will be issued this year 2015. They said they just dont have the time with the high number of applications that need to be vetted. But Allard is due very soon. Perhaps October the latest. Supposing the injunction is lifted and the MMAR Growers lose their licenses, what will these businesses look like when they report inventory gains on a medical product with a non legal, unqualified source? I dont know, who wants to roll the dice with a for profit (or NFP)medical cannabis business against the CRA, RCMP, Federal Government, Health Canada, and Judicial System, all the while going against the law openly while a legal regulated structure exists? Very Strange Business Plan.
