Actually, I think UC's thrive more in rural areas @ least here on the East Coast. Most UC's cater to those that either have insurance or have higher incomes that prefer the convenience of an urgent care rather than waiting for an office visit or going to the ER for minor services.
On the other hand, "clinics" that cater to those that are unemployed or are medicaid recipients do much better closer to an ER.
