Actually, I think the reality of the situation is that there is not going to be a new contract with UMG - they lack incentive for one and Destiny has no leverage, it's an asymmetrical negotiation.
That's part of the problem, the other part is that our CEO appears to be fundamentally dishonest about it - in the April CC, he said the new contract would be signed in May and then in the July CC he said it would be signed in a few weeks.
This attitude spills over into the Clipstream conversation, too, where almost no stated company time lines about product development have been met. Will it really surprise anyone if, in the Nov. CC, he says that the cloud product that was supposed to be ready in September (now) won't be ready until February? The announcement this week about a contract was so vague that it was almost silly, an attempt to just put out some good news, which the market has seemingly disregarded.
Not too long ago, I tripled my position in DSNY. I now feel that was a mistake, that we're still two or three years away from real results, but, really, how can anyone tell? We can hope for the best, but hope has a long history of being an unsound investment strategy.
