Yes. That "one week for phase one" was hilarious. Even if we can agree that phase II (efficacy) will go faster than for most drugs, simply because it only takes a couple of weeks to get through a case of influenza, there is no reason to believe that phase I will be any faster than for any other drug. The same safety tests have to be done on humans that are done with any other drug. We can expect phase I to take about a year.
