A merger has to be coming throughout the whole sector. But CHK is a likely takeover... But the way the market goes for me, all the stocks I do not own will be merging and CHK will be left to await prices rising...
Short interest is so high, anything could happen with any news considered to be positive. Short covering WILL happen--it is just a question on when and how concentrated that covering (buying) will happen.
A RSI does NOT stay this low in any stock forever.
