I agree wholeheartedly with this article. IMO CurrentC and the retail consortium aligned with them made a poor decision to exclude credit cards and NFC payment.

Consumers need (and "require") flexibility and choice. CurrentC should have enabled consumers with both QR and NFC functionality and allowed consumers to choose.

Retailers stand to save 2.5% to 3% on each transaction that shifts from credit card to a bank account or debit/gift card. They should apply incentives to compel consumers to utilize QR payment, but should NEVER have omitted credit cards.

CurrentC has stated that credit card payment may be considered in the future, however, IMSO this is a horrible strategy and the retailers should know better. Perhaps there is something(s) we are unaware of, but I am not thinking so at this time.
