#101 RE: FRED8 #100

Fred,

As we continue to grow iHub, we are always looking for new ways to bring people into the online discussion fold.

When I first started iHub, one of the original "ways to grow" was to integrate the site into brokerage sites for some sort of fee. Only recently haven't we gotten large enough to command the respect needed to get in the door with the brokerage houses.

Ameritrade has long been the one I wanted in with first. It's my favorite broker (by far).

That leads me to my question. As a current user of message boards, would you consider it to be value-added to be able to be a premium member (no ads, tons of features, etc) of iHub through your broker, and use iHub from within Ameritrade? I'd be a lot of active traders would.

...or...

As a user of Ameritrade who never heard of message boards, do you think it would be a "cool feature" to have message boards integrated into the site, as a new place to get tips? Even a reason to sign up for Ameritrade if you got a premium sub to iHub ($90/year).

The beauty of what we have, versus what E*Trade (or other sites have) is we are independent of one group. Meaning, our boards are not just restricted to Ameritrade-only users. You could have people from Schwab, E*Trade, elsewhere all posting tips/advice together. Collective intelligence. That's sort of where the "hub" comes from in our name. I wanted (and will eventually) build iHub into "the" message board hub where all others sites just connect into and use us as the message board function for their customers.

Thoughts?

Curious to see what you guys think. I'm looking for new avenues for growth for us and strongly considering approaching someone like Ameritrade. It'd add some fuel to it to say "Hey, look what your shareholders and customers say....on iHub!"
