Walldog: Ironically as the country becomes more religious, you say it has lost its soul. There is a lot in the world that is going downhill, but there are a hell of a lot of places that have bigger problems than America.
I agree that America has its problems, but I think that the weak have too much of a say in what goes on these days.
I think that peoples attitudes need to change and a good start would be to get rid of silly political correctness in conversation etc.
All the crap about people suing for discrimination because somebody calls them a nigger, while the black community are more than happy to address each other as "wassup my nigga!" is also a load of rubbish. Bring back the days when you can compliment a woman on her appearance without getting nailed for sexual harrassment (hasn't happened to me by the way, but I am trying to make a point).
In my country, Britain, things are going to the dogs in certain quarters as well and they should bring back caning in schools to teach children good manners and respect, rather than have them learning that they can run riot and no-one can do anything about it. Of course, there will be the odd scenario where a kid will be abused by a ruthless teacher, but for the benefit of society it is worth risking that happening - far too often in modern society, change is put in place that helps out a very small minority at the expense of the majority. No world is perfect, but majority should rule.
Right, almost enough of the soap box for me this morning, but it is too early to say that the US is finished. She just needs the right people in the right spots to guide her back in line again.
To assume that the US is finished would be to assume that China is going to take over. China is going to undergo massive social upheaval over the next few decades and it is too early to say what the result of that will be.
