Thank you for the great reply. I love you're story if more people like me would listen to people like you. This world would probably be a better place. We have a similar history.
After my grandpa retired from Union pacific he couldn't set at home. He had a friend that owned alot of rental properties in Oklahoma. So my grandpa would manage them and do 90% of the work on them. Witch was great it kept him healthy till his mid 70s.
I would spend my summers from about 10 years old working on all these houses doing dry wall, painting, roofing, tile, plumbing pretty much everything. As well learning the rental business. He would get 10% of the rent.
So from early childhood I've been working with my hands. Now I'm in the air force my job is aircraft fuel system on the ac130 and cv22 here is video of my job.

I'm definitely not an office type person!

I'm very eager to get into rental properties but you are right it will be hard being in the service. But I will rent my home out if I get moved and I will buy another home at the next location.
I believe that investing in property and real stocks are some of the most effective ways to build welth. To me it is so sad that not one time while I was in school that investing of any type was ever brought up. But you best believe that I had to take 2 years of a foreign language to graduate. because of that I am asking for advice on basic investments on stock forum's. Sorry about the long rant but the education system is screwed.

Anyways about exxon I looked into that one in the past how did I not think of that earlier. It has a nice growing dividend and these falling oil prices has the pps down to the 70s I believe It could bounce back.

I agree with you that I should diverse my portfolio.
