The incentive that would exponentially drive (customer-side) adoption of the mobile app is a referral system (implemented through a specialized third party such as Commission Junction rather than in-house) that rewards existing app users for referring new users that install and use the app.

Referral System Example:

1. An existing eMobilePay user emails all his Facebook and/or LinkedIn contacts with a form message that highlights the benefits of the app.
2. The email recipients click/tap the referral tracking link embedded in the email, then install the app.
3. After each new user uses the app, the user who initiated the referrals is rewarded. (For instance, a new user completes ten transactions before the referring user receives a $1 reward. As a result, MYEC earns $2.50 for each new user based on 25 cents per transaction before each $1.00 referral fee is paid out to the referring party.)

Notably, there are many other communication mediums in addition to email that referral systems can be promoted through, such as Internet search, website publishing, texting, social media, and print (with QR codes).

I charge the customer the cc fee on transactions over $2500.

Most merchants who charge those extra CC fees Ed up driving away customers and losing sales.

Charging extra fees for the use of credit cards is not always a good strategy.

The few places I've seen do this are either out of business today or struggling to stay in business.

It's going to happen, just a matter of time. We are about a 30 million dollar a year company, average size for what we do. We are a member of a huge buying group that makes us having the same buying power as some of the largest companies in our category. I can imagine one day not only saving our customers money with a company like MYEC but also paying all the manufacturers we work with the same way. There is so much business out there that all Ed would need to start with is a small slice of the pie and it would snow ball.

Again it is going to happen at some point in time.
