#36735 RE: alanthill #36733

Alan, I am not sure that the margin figure in the article is purely for the contract printing or if it is a global figure for Voxeljet. I really do not know what the numbers mean other than that there is a marked increase in the contract printing arena, which I believe will continue to be quite strong. Many companies that are not prepared to go all in and purchase their own printer(s), build the appropriate material handling facility and system, hire the engineers with sufficient 3d printing experience, etc etc all point to me that there will be a need for contract printing facilities for prototyping and small lot manufacturing as the adoption curve for inhouse printing plays out. The adoption of 3d printing as a manufacturing process will take time and will provide opportunities for contract printing to assist in revenue production for SGLB. That Mr. Herman (I think) of Arete, with a history with GE and Morris Labs is looking to have four machines by the end of 2016 means to me that they anticipate significant sales.

Revenues are revenues and the amount will be determined over time. The access to their own machines will have other indirect benefits as well.

patience and GLTA
