Icahn has increased his stake in Cheniere Energy inc. (NYSEMKT:LNG) to 8.18%. The energy company has been working its way to the forefront of natural gas exporting in the United States. Icahn is jumping into the position as huge stockpiles drive down fuel prices in the United States, and stirred more interest in shipping to outside markets. While Cheniere's income statements haven't been the most glamorous, it does seem that they could be in for some big changes in the foreseeable future. The company has received the go aheadfrom the U.S. Department of Energy to ship liquefied natural gas to countries that lack free trade agreements with America. They're also working to develop increased production capacity.
