Well, Apple recommends using AV software on Macs. Perhaps many users don't know that.

The additional issue is that you have to enter the Admin password for the install which should be a big red flag. I don't believe that you have to enter the Admin password if you're in an Admin account which most Windows users use for the convenience.

Why are you comparing experienced Windows users to novice Mac users?

There are far more novice Windows users than total Mac users.
