I believe they are talking about our Deform. There was a Honeywell presentation out there that showed the "IPQA" implemented right into the ICME framework. Can someone find that and repost it?

Title: Rapid Low Cost Additive Manufacturing
Schedule: 24 Months
Scope: A 24 month effort to develop an integrated computational material engineering (ICME) framework to accurately
predict the material properties of components produced using Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS). The ICME framework will
use DMLS machine parameters to ensure optimization of design, process, material and performance prior to component
fabrication.
• Task 1: Design for Manufacturability Analysis, Synthesis and Manufacturing Process Selection Tool Task
• Task 2: Rapid Manufacturing Processes, Process Controls, Process Models and Simulations
• Task 3: Rapid Qualification Approaches
In Process Quality Assurance (IPQA):
Real Time NDE (B6Sigma)
• Optical pyrometers and thermal imaging
will be used to quantify thermal history.
– Correlate Voice Of the Process (VOP)
response to DMLS process parameters
– Correlate VOP to possible defect structures
– Use VOP data to validate and calibrate
process models
• ULTIMATE GOAL: On-machine
acceptance and qualification of
components
– Acceptable process algorithms based on
POD curves for all defect structures
IPQA Data Will Be Used to Calibrate and Validate Models
