I dont believe any smart investor would play aapl just for the dividend. Smart investors play sbux ticc nymt stwd etc for bigger dividends. apple is a growth stock with a little dividend.
Will investors buy just to get the next dividend? >> sort of doubt it since stocks normally back off to even out the dividend. People buy, other than traders, Apple looking for a decent dividend and long term growth, which of course has not been happening the last quarter as it remains stuck in neutral.
