Yes, Obama's words are resolute. After a 2nd reading about all of the Obama quotes look perfectly rational, reasonable
and on the ball to me .. the only possible question mark for me in all of Obama's statements there are these eleven words ..

“And what we were able to do,” the president continued, “is to say to them, ‘Given your past behavior, given our strong suspicion and evidence that you made attempts to weaponize your nuclear program, given the destabilizing activities that you’ve engaged in in the region and support for terrorism, it’s not enough for us to trust when you say that you are only creating a peaceful nuclear program. You have to prove it to us.’ And so this whole system that we built is not based on trust; it’s based on a verifiable mechanism, whereby every pathway that they have is shut off.”

and note, down a bit farther, where Obama is talking about a possible Republican successor ..

"And he’d still be in possession of the entire arsenal of our armed forces, and our diplomatic and intelligence services, to deal with the possibility that Iran was cheating. ... They’re not going to admit that now. And that’s entire hypothetical, because I feel good about having a Democratic successor."

he leaves open the possibility that Iran had not been working toward a nuclear weapon ever.

I make that tiny inconsequential point not to be picky, but just simply because i haven't seen any absolute evidence that they had been ever working to nuclear weaponize. Even in this one

Don't suppose we will ever be sure on that point. It doesn't matter now that the deal is done. Only hope no hardliners, wherever, are able to bring it undone, and get the
war some kooks would rather have. That latter comment is directed more toward American theocratic ideologists as i can't see any in Iran wanting a war with the USA.

PS: I've just seen some even have/had some doubt whether or not Khamenei is still alive.

Nice (lengthly) article in yesterday's Boston Globe magazine on Earnie Moniz - he's quite a guy.
