EPGL could be on to something, and if they get their products working before other someone else does, then the stock value may reflect that. But thats a long way out, and in the meantime its safe to say these updates do more damage than good.
I don't think they should even mention deals or development agreements until the other party is ready to verify. That will shut some people up and give longs some ammo as well.
