The easier and cheaper one. The other is Software. Which is the more difficult and more expensive side. Even more compelling.

If he choses to go AMD instead, he will have platform #1 for datacenter, webservers
and workstations, platform #2 for webservers, workstations, cheap desktops and laptops.

If he choses Intel he can have FP performance levels *now* AMD won't be able to match
until 65 nm. Assuming AMD is still in business in 3 or 4 years and x86 can scale that far.
