8:24 EDT - Kraft Heinz(KHC) starts trading today following Thursday's closure of the food giants' merger, and Stifel Nicolaus starts coverage at buy. The investment bank thinks KHC "holds strong growth potential" for both sales and earnings the next few years thanks to both a "diligent" cost focus and putting money back into the business, which Stifel sees resulting in "a stronger revenue-growth outlook" for KHC. And while the firm doesn't anticipates KHC being off the large-scale M&A field for the next year-plus, acquisitions will remain part of the playbook as to "help accelerate its growth and capitalize on its scale in the hopes of achieving an even-higher margin, return on invested capital and free-cash-flow generation."
