Yes technically 3rd qrt begins July1st BUT PMCB's starts officially starts November 1st. I would think that they are going by theirs. If (for example) they said revenues will be down 3rd qrt well that would be nov1-jan31, right? So why is this any different?
If anything it's a loophole for them so when nothing gets started between july1st and sept 31st they can say their 3rd qrt. Unless KW specifically said July -sept I'd bet on the later.

Can you imagine if every business followed their financial quarters when discussing plan items? We would all be so confused. It would be ridiculous. So when a company mentions quarterly plans to the public, it's based on the calendar year. Otherwise, for every company PR, we'd need to have a copy of the company's financials to figure out when is their fiscal quarter. Just counterintuitive...
