Brian M. Brewer is director of marketing and communications for the Cancer Research Institute. In this role, he helps the organization shape and promote its marketing, development, and media relations activities, with emphasis on refining the organization's brand and raising its profile in a highly competitive space. He also seeks to secure new corporate and other nonprofit partners for cause-branded marketing opportunities. Prior to this role, he was the grants program administrator at CRI from 2001-2006. His responsibilities across various departments in the organization in that time have given him insight into the importance of every team member toward supporting the organization's mission.
Brian graduated from Brandeis University with a B.A. in Theater Arts, cum laude, is a member of the National German Honorary Society (Delta Phi Alpha), and is an alumnus of the American Express Nonprofit Leadership Academy. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Public Administration from NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service (expected May 2016).
"My love of CRI comes from the organization's unique focus on the immune system—it's the coolest science there is when it comes to cancer. Immunotherapy is helping save people’s lives, and this is just the beginning. I'm also impressed by the professionalism and dedication of every single CRI staff member. It's a joy to work here." — Brian
