shtsqsh -- kinda lends credence to the conspiracy of the Illuminati? -- uhh, no -- even leaving aside the various absurd blending into virulently racist/Christian-nationalist niceties to be heard in tellings of that tale, an unnecessary conceptual artifice in any event -- there is no great mystery that requires a contrivance of some centuries-old grand secret conspiracy
finance and big capital/concentrated wealth, and their influence/power, are, and long have been, one way or another, part of the system, part of the deal, across (and among) all of our particular sorts of polities -- folks can conjure/idealize whichever alternative system/deal or other lacking those 'features' all they like -- but back here in current/historical social reality, . . .
so the question is, how do we, everyone else, the rest of us, deal with that reality of finance and big capital/concentrated wealth and their influence/power?
here in this country, it's up to us, everyone else, the rest of us, to use our rights under the representative democratic system and institutions we have to make sure that we have our say and exercise our influence/power in our deal and dealings with our finance and big capital/concentrated wealth, to balance, and appropriately delimit, them and their (concentrated wealth and corresponding) influence/power -- we, collectively, gotta get smart (enough) about what's actually real and actually happening, learn and communicate about that, and then just fucking turn out and vote, appropriately (never mind 'perfect', there is always a candidate better than the other[s]), every time, no excuses, never mind/fuck Citizens United and all the rest -- either we git 'er done that way, or we don't, plain and simple -- that's the system we've got; that's how it works
