wbmw, no doubt it will be, but I don't think the performance of 6 mb-cached chip should bother AMD at all.

When 80386 processor started winning the world it was hardly the fastest. It was probably at the slower side.

Btw, Intel's own 80860 40 Mhz RISC processor, made IFAIK in 1986, was maybe 3 times faster (or even more) than the mainstream 80x86 cpu. You know what happened next? It died.

History is strongly against Intel.
