Great post!
in4it is out of it.
Out of the Box? OR Just plain out of my mind? LOL
I sent this to PP:
Scott,
I was reading your article about a well known player coming out to be the next PWC.
I know that Symbol licensed Neomedia's technology back in 2001. KING of badcode scanning devices.
I also know by some of your articles that MSFT has been in talks with Symbol Technologies.
I know that Microsoft has been in talks with Qualcomm.
Could the connection be that the above solved the problem with the camera phones lens so that a camera phones could be developed with embedded barcode laser scanner for call phones/palm pilots/PDAs. The cell phone camera will not need the high resolution for pictures proven by Mobot. Can I make a patent to embed a laser scanner into a cellphone?
This way Qualcomm could get paperclick embedded on their CDMA chip just like Intel does for the GSM chip.
My argument is that CMDA is the slow down here in the U.S. GSM is big in Europe and Nokia is pushing mobile content hard in Europe. So Qualcomm slapped Nokia with a law suit to buy some more time to get things rolling on their end here in the U.S.
Do you think Microsoft could be partnered up with Neomedia, Symbol, Qualcomm, to make the above happen here in the U.S.?
Could they be using the video mode on the cell phone to be a scanner? Could the mega pixel video option mode be enough to capture a barcode or picture if software is up loaded to use the video as a scanner?
I will post a reply if I get one from him.
