You can start by stop following Ihub breakout boards and watch some youtube videos on chart reading and understanding level 2 quotes for free. then getting a level 2 service(TD ameritrade offers it free with a trading account) so you have a better handle on minute by minute trading action. The biggest thing is realizing that there are always others if you missed the boat so don't get drawn into message board hype to buy in on a stock that has gone up 300% because most all those guys bought in at the beginning of the price surge and are now selling. Instead observe what is going on. Usually the faster they go up the quicker they fall.
