That's very true. Whoever does finally get the fiber out there will get the rewards of everyone's advertisement.

But ultimately spider silk will only make it in an industry that needs spider silk for its properties and not its novelty.

The novelty will wear off very fast but will be worth a fortune in the garment industry while the fad lasts. The problem being if a goo producer with an inferior fiber gets the market with a fiber weaker than cotton it will give spider silk a bad name.

Future spider silk clothing that is actually spider silk will be looked at as crap
