Too bad that Netflix is already the Netflix of the 4K generation.

That is, if there's some sort of upsurge in demand, Netflix will be there to claim it, while NTEK will still be frantically diluting to pay for the single blockbuster that they apparently borrowed on credit.

Actually, I think I dispute the notion, put out a few days ago in a seemingly knowledgeable post, that Paramount gave Interstellar to NTEK on favorable terms; i.e., not having to pay them back for it for 30-60-90 days hence.

At the time, I said that Paramount accountants can't be that stupid. Besides that, with Foley going to jail, there's a trivially easy and convenient way to stiff Paramount: declare bankruptcy and walk away. I'm surprised they didn't do it.

BUT, it makes sense if you start to figure that maybe Paramount wasn't quite that stupid, and demanded cash up front. At that point, NTEK could've sought out some sort of financing that Chapter 7 won't wash away. One possibility would be a second mortgage on Foley's home in Los Gatos, and there are other possibilities.

In which case, bankruptcy wouldn't be an option, and they'd have to do a mad scramble to pay off those notes at any cost.

But would they do anything as stupid as that if they didn't, in their hearts, believe that Interstellar would not only pay for itself, but put NTEK on the map for real?

'Cause that'd be the hallmark of a scammer who scams himself.

The Ultraflix app isn’t available on any of the Smart TV Alliance members: not LG, not Panasonic, not Sharp, not Phillips, not Toshiba. And your article is from January of this year.

So “next up,” as the paid fluff article states, should perhaps read “non probable in our lifetime." Unless "next up" in NTEK parlance, means possibly within the next hundred years.

While we’re at it, the paid fluff article you posted from January also states claims from NTEK that content deals with UF would be struck “in the next few weeks” with Sony, NBCUniversal, Lionsgate and Disney. None of those have happened, and none of them will. Again, this article is six months old.

So what's the point of your post? All you’ve done here is reinforce the multitude of empty promises from NTEK.

While on the subject of content, just accept the fact that nothing that will move the consumer meter will ever make it's way to NTEK again. NTEK is one and done with major studios. They won't get anything of note ever again, and their two flimsy Paramount first run flicks will come off license soon anyway, leaving them with nothing at the end of the day but poorly upscaled HD content and obscure shorts. And third-rate Bolly fluff.
