Douglas M. Coldwell, Ph.D., M.D. CONSULTANT for FDA From 2011 to Present from link on Merlos post# 36908
Date: 13MAY2015
"COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES 1987-1988 Inter-Society Affairs Committee Regional Representative, Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology ..... blah blah blah ..... 2011-Present Radiologic Devices Panel, Center for Devices and Radiologic Health, Food and Drug Administration, Bethesda, MD" on the LAST LINE!
Check out Citation #77 in his Curriculum Vitae (CV):
77. Coldwell DM, Kennedy AS, Nutting CW. The use of resin Y90 microsphere brachytherapy for unresectable hepatic metastases from breast cancer. Int J Radiat Oncol Biol Phys 2007;69:800-804.
I can't see any other explanation for his presence now. This is a gold nugget that I don't think anyone from the FDA caught.
Dr. Coldwell is a top authority in the use of Yttrium-90 microspheres for cancer treatment. PDF search "Yttrium-90" and it's in numerous places throughout the document.
Its interesting to note he has a lot of prior medical service / positions in Washington.
If you look at the Bio document date, it's May 13, 2015. Just last month. It had to be updated for a specific reason. And IMO the FDA would only disclose who was on an Advisory Committee after the fact. IMO a decision should be rendered very very soon and I expect a favorable one of a Approval!
I wouldn't be surprised if news pops first thing Monday morning.
Hang on folks it's going to be an exciting ride!!!!
No he was NOT "pulled into the advisory committee recently"...scroll down his resume to Committee Assignments and Administrative Services and you'll find he's been with FDA Radiological Panel since 2011 and NOT for ADMD device...stick with reality
That actually worries me more than helps. If they need special attention that means it's closer to failing then passing. If something is good you don't worry about a specialist. People that have lost hope on cures for cancer go to specialists. I appreciate the thought since this is a very good person, but this leads to more doubt imo.
