"Sponsored research collaboration." True, the source of funding is not mentioned. If it were another source than Peregrine, should it not be mentioned?

Maybe Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation or some Billionaire does not want all the peddling retail shareholders jumping in while they are accumulating ?

BMGF popped up out of no where in that March Madness of 2014 and it would not surprise me in the least to find out there is much more going on since those times.

Good point TOG, but it isn't the direction of the funding etc. that would play into whether it is material or not, but rather the amount. For example, if Avid were to get another customer that doubled their orders, that would be material, just as expending a lot of funds to double capacity would also be material. however, spending or receiving a small percentage of the total business dollars is not material. I think all we can surmise from the PR is that cost implications are small.
