SmartMetric on Track for Manufacturing Release Within 60 Days of Its Revolutionary Biometric Activated and Verified Payments Card
NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - May 20, 2015) - SmartMetric, Inc. (OTCQB: SMME) SmartMetric announced today that it is on track with its time frame for manufacturing release of its fingerprint activated and user verified biometric payments card. It is now expected that the first product release will be within the next 60 days.
The company is already receiving approaches from Financial Institutions from around the world who are interested in the technology as a means to mitigate card fraud while at the same time providing their banking customers with a greater protection against identity theft.
Research and development of the revolutionary new payments card has taken a number of years, with the largest obstacle being the physical size of components needed. "What we have done is scale down components such as our Cortex processor and memory along with the power management system to a thickness less than 1/3 the height of a standard credit card. This in itself is a phenomenal achievement in the field of electronics," said SmartMetric's President & CEO, Chaya Hendrick.
The SmartMetric biometric payments card is self-powered with a rechargeable battery and uses the person's fingerprint verification to activate the cards EMV chip. There are now more than 3.5 billion EMV chip cards in use globally.

Hi LNM

My reply to you was in regards to the added benefits that the soon to be released card will have on banking security and identification. Let's not confuse the situation especially when the company just announced a release date of its Biometric Card.

Technology is constantly evolving more rapidly then ever before. To sit here now and believe that the card won't be obsolete in the future is very naive. The biometric card and the technology within the card itself, from what I understand, is cutting edge (for now).

You are correct.
The MKR, from my basic understanding, has been put on hold (or mothballed as you put it) to focus on the card. With limited funds and resources available I guess decisions were made and the focus was shifted to bring the Card into production. This has obviously paid off as is evident from today's press release by the company.

(Please forgive my delay in replying as I can only post once in a 24hr period).

Matt.
