A big institution is never going to invest clients money into companies with small market caps, they are way to easy to be manipulated. They buy and hold large stable companies that are very predictable. Their profession is not to take a gamble, its to responsibly invest for reasonable rates of return. A venture capital company would be far more likely to buy this type of company than a large institution.
Everyone should check out Pekin Singer Strauss's Appleseed Mutual Fund (AAPLX). Chart looks good. Maybe they're not an official "institution" but definitely seems like they have been in the game a while, do good DD, and know what they're doing. I feel good knowing they have established a long position in SLTD.
