One good thing is General Hemp will be responsible for any damages that may result from the Cannavest V Kannaway lawsuit and not MJNA as stated in the financials on page 9. Titus didn't dump that liability onto MJNA as previously speculated.

OTC Disclosure & News Service

SAN DIEGO, May 18, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cannabis has been illegal in Brazil – regardless of whether the origin is from marijuana or hemp. That has all changed thanks to two mothers, one in the United States and one in Brazil – and Real Scientific Hemp Oil™ (RSHO™), a Medical Marijuana, Inc.-marketed hemp product via its partnership with HempMeds Brasil™.

Medical Marijuana, Inc. (OTC Pink:MJNA) is proud to announce to shareholders and the public that HempMeds Brasil's™ RSHO™ product has been written into world history as the first cannabis product to be approved for import by Brazil's federal government and used as a prescription for approved medical indications within Brazil including epilepsy (CDKL5 and Dravet Syndrome). HempMeds Brasil™ is providing the RSHO™ exclusively for the Brazilian marketplace while under temporary broad approval for additional medical indications, subject to clinical trials within the country.

Today, any resident of Brazil who has a government-approved medical indication can have access to RSHO™ hemp oil products and may do so with both a doctor's prescription and government-approved import documentation. ANVISA has issued a statement on the agency's website, featuring a photo of a tube of RSHO™ from HempMeds Brasil™, and explains how to apply for an import certificate. Currently the product is approved via direct registration from an individual consumer, HempMeds Brasil™ has been working for over a year on its formal product drug application and submission. The company expects this to take through 2015 to complete.

"Brazil is a shining example of how a national government has responded to humanitarian interests and has swiftly and diligently passed favorable legislation on behalf of the health and well-being of its people – children in particular," states Stuart W. Titus, PhD and Chief Executive Officer of Medical Marijuana, Inc. "We are truly inspired by the swiftness and the capability of the Brazilian government to overcome politics in granting nationwide access to CBD hemp oil products. Their decisive action is a stellar example for the rest of the world – they rewrote history. The products have been approved for import for six medical indications, five of these indications are subject to future clinical trials - we will update shareholders on developments."

Dr. Titus continues, "I would like to say thank you to our team of dedicated men and women across the world who have made history, for without you none of this would be possible. To the parents and families in the U.S. and Brazil who have fought to have access to these products in Brazil our hearts are with you and your children. Thank you for your trust and belief in our company and our natural botanical products."

Legalizing Industrial Hemp CBD Oil in Brazil (video)

After daily doses of RSHO, Anny Fischer experienced her first day seizure-free since the onset of her CDKL5 diagnosis. This the story of how her success with the treatment inspired the entire country of Brazil to legalize CBD for medical purposes!

A Mother and Daughter’s Fight to Legalize CBD in Brazil

(and finally won: RSHO is the only one CBD product allowed in Brazil!)

MMJ Patient: Anny Fischer

With the world being so exceptionally large, contingent on so many moving parts, one would think that we have little opportunity to make a major impact… but one mother down in Brazil, is proof that that this is simply not the case. If you have the will, the drive, and a fiercely beating heart, you can make a difference. In Katiele Fischer’s case, her will to make an impact not only altered the perception of her surrounding culture and country, but served as the catalyst for a ripple effect that will reach far beyond Brazil’s borders. It all started with a question, ‘What is CBD?’

Quite recently, Katiele Fischer and her husband were thrown into a whirlwind of heartache and passion when they gave birth to their daughter, Anny. Like most new parents, they were beside themselves with happiness and gratitude for the birth of their baby girl. However, the Fischers were almost immediately thrown a curve ball when they were confronted with a whole new set of challenges – within months of being born, Anny was diagnosed with a severe seizure disorder, CDKL5.

However, the Fischers were almost immediately thrown a curve ball when they were confronted with a whole new set of challenges – within months of being born, Anny was diagnosed with a severe seizure disorder, CDKL5.

Her diagnosis brought unimaginable hardship to the Fischer family; Instead of using their calendar to mark down their daughter’s first word or her first step, her parents were charting the countless seizures their daughter suffered throughout the day. According to the International Foundation of CDKL5, ‘Most children affected by [the disorder] suffer from seizures that begin in the first few months of life. Most cannot walk, talk or feed themselves, and many are confined to wheelchairs, dependent on others for everything.’ Anny’s disorder was relentless, unforgiving and consumed the Fischers with grief.

After countless months of tests, trials, and pharmaceuticals, Anny’s tiny delicate form found little relief. Her seizures continuing to reign fiercely with no sign of stopping. Katiele became desperate to find something, anything, to lessen her daughter’s pain and she began to fervently research into alternative treatments. One day, she came upon another mother’s blog called, Hope4Harper.com that gave life to the first sign of hope in her search for a cure!

One day, she came upon another mother’s blog called, Hope4Harper.com that gave life to the first sign of hope in her search for a cure!

On the blog, mother Penny Howard wrote about how a hemp-derived CBD oil, RSHO, had saved her daughter’s life from the seizures that resulted from her diagnosis of CDKL5, the very same disorder that plagued Katiel’s own daughter. After an month of follow-up research on CBD and the potential relief it offered for Anny, Katiele reached out to her family friends in the United States and asked them to send her some of the industrial hemp oil.

Although the oil was illegal in Brazil, the risk of losing her daughter far outweighed her fear of imprisonment, so she proceeded to smuggle in Anny’s first batch of hemp oil. After conducting the necessary preliminary tests with Anny’s neurologist, the Fischers began giving their daughter daily doses of industrial hemp oil, meticulously charting the patterns of her seizures.

On January 5, 2014, Anny experienced her first seizure-free day since the onset of her CDKL5 diagnosis! After what felt like a lifetime filled with countless months of failed treatments and hopelessness, they experienced their first moment of clarity, tangible results and hope.

On January 5, 2014, Anny experienced her first seizure-free day since the onset of her CDKL5 diagnosis! After what felt like a lifetime filled with countless months of failed treatments and hopelessness, they experienced their first moment of clarity, tangible results and hope.

That hope continued, day after day, without a single seizure until over a month later when Brazil’s federal healthy agency intercepted Anny’s next batch of RSHO, replacing their package with a warning note. The Fischers then ran out of hemp oil and without her daily doses of CBD, their daughter’s seizures returned with a vengeance.

They had seen hope, they had seen the light behind Anny’s eyes return, and they weren’t about to give up on her. This is the point in which their story transformed into something even more powerful than hope, their story turned into empowerment. And it all started with a mother and her daughter.

In the following months, mainstream media began covering the story of the Fischers. Prestigious medical institutions began studying CBD and hemp oil; and research studies documenting the benefits of CBD and other compounds found in hemp began permeating throughout the country of Brazil.

On April 3, 2014 the Fischers triumphed and gained the right to import the industrial hemp oil into Brazil for Anny, but the fight for victory didn’t stop there. Their daughter was not the only child suffering from potentially fatal seizures, there were more families who needed access to this treatment.

The Brazilian people marched to the capitol. Well-known doctors voiced their support for CBD, a documentary titled “Illegal” was released to the public, and a span of generations united together under the single goal of changing the laws to legally import industrial hemp oil into Brazil. The families and the surrounding community found strength in their mission and sought to make the difference in the world that they wanted to see.

And on January 14, 2015, the fight was won! RSHO officially became a medicine in Brazil, and even became subsidized by the government. Although this was no easy feat, the passion and dedication of a community and country inspired the need for change. This is the story that exudes the power of the ripple effect – Major change that originates from a singular point of contact.

This is not only a story of hope, but one that has the ability to inspire change far past the borders of Brazil; It has the power to change the hearts of people worldwide. We all hold the lives of loved ones close to our hearts, what would you do to save them?

You have the power to make a difference in this world. Open your heart. Know their story. Be part of making a positive impact!

This is not only a story of hope, but one that has the ability to inspire change far past the borders of Brazil; It has the power to change the hearts of people worldwide.
