#1850 RE: finrafriend #1849

You are right. That actually makes more sense. I was scratching my head this morning--happy to hear news but disappointed with the amount because it sounded like the prior releases, which we thought represented more than $2 million by far.

The prior releases don't specify hardware, but we know this from their documentation: <<Simply upload the database; keep all readers, cards, power supplies and wiring; remove old proprietary control hardware; and connect the edge devices to Freedom’s patented Encrypted Bridges.>>

But today's release refers to upgrading the prior installation software, which lends credence to what you are saying:<<In the first phase, Viscount's Freedom will be deployed at 46 of USCIS' sites which already use a previous version of Freedom and will secure more than 1,500 doors. Phase one of the three-phase rollout is valued at more than $800,000.>> So this seems fairly clear to be 'above and beyond' the 'same ol thing'.

So even though prior releases sound very similar, it would appear that this $2 million is in addition to prior agreements for the software portion. At least I hope so..it is confusing.

Thanks for sharing this.

A recent release:
<<a software company specializing in physical and logical security solutions, today announced that it has been awarded contracts to install the Freedom Access Control Solution ("Freedom") at the facilities of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services ("USCIS") in Nebraska, California, and Idaho.

Freedom is a software-centric, IT-empowered physical access control system ("PACS") that enables IT leaders to more effectively control access to areas and resources in the facility they manage. The patented, web-based software brings built-in cyber security protection to access control, reduces the cost of deployment and long term ownership, and provides a customizable, highly scalable platform for unifying physical and logical security applications.>>
