#177509 RE: IH Admin [Edward] (Retired) #177507

Here is an example:

I post:

Annual Meeting via teleconference on June 19, 2015.

other poster:

agreed merger to be approved

I never said merger to be approved...but.....if I reply: you said merger to happen I never said that

you can delete my post and his stands...even though clearly I never said what he posted

this is fair to poster saying meeting to happen !!!!
I think NOT....secound poster gets away with missleading others

------------------

poster #1 says:

10-q OUT with negative information

poster #2 says: agreed .25 coming

that is not what poster #1 says but poster #2 gets away with missleading others

------------
poster #1` says: company has very little cash to operate with and they are in chapter-11
poster #2 says: GREAT NEWS

once again NOT what poster said....but....if poster #1 responds his post is deleted

I think mods need to revisit this rule
there are ways to respond without attacking another poster
if one responds with the quote and says he did not say that
that is NOT attacking the poster....it is validatiing your position that you did not say what other poster is saying you said

under your current rules you can not defend yourself when others attack you by miss quoting you
