Roni-
I use most of the chat programs, ICQ & ISPQ primarily. The problem with iChat and AIM is the limited membership. I really like to talk with people in the world. i regularly videochat with Egypt, Indonesia,Korea, Beijing, Nanking, Kazahkstan, Jordan, Iran,Russia & Thailand and as I mentioned elsewhere it reminds me of the ham radio set ups of my youth.
You will not find these people on AOL or certainly not on iChat.
I find South Korea amazing with its adoption of the web and the highest broadband usage and fastest pipes in the world. One of the friends I made is a web master for LG Electronics.
The internet offers me voices i do not hear in the world of commercial media, voices of the people, albeit tech savvy and able to afford the web and a current PC.
My Philips web cam is no longer available in the US, but its CMOS chip and microphone work incredibly well, and I actually tried and returned 3 firewire web cams because they were not up to Philips video and audio quality.
Apparently my USB web cam does not work with iChat, but the iChat community is so miniscule I am not missing anything.
With ICQ , Yahoo Mess or AIM I can send art files from any Starbucks, airport or hotel directly to my office while conversing in live time with my assistant.
The true killer conferencing and remote control program for Mac OSX is Webex, but at nearly $200.00 per seat, per month, it is definitely not a toy or for frivolous use.
