Unfortunately, the Republican flavor is huge tax cuts for the wealthy which do no good while giving small tax cuts to everyone else to keep them quiet and give the economy a little stimulus. Couple that with deregulation of Wall Street and eventually you get the huge imbalance of wealth that we have now. It's the basic supply side formula.
