The most you can make on any short is 100% if it goes to zero, but you can lose much much.more right up to a margin call. Where as simply buying a 3x etf you could have made 100s%. Ie if you had shorted ugaz vs buying dgaz last fall. Or buying ugaz at 1.7~1.9 vs shorting dgaz currently.
