well as others have stated there is nothing that proves any 2 million was seized, there was only something over 200k reported and with the SEC,DOJ looking on I highly doubt those numbers were wrongly stated by anyone associated to the company.
As far as your numbers 226k short down to 75k short over a months time span, all we know is the open price for the first day and not what the prices were as the days went on when the shorts were covered, One would expect that shorts would let it fall as low as possible and cover then, but as I say we do not know the actual selling price or price of the shares when bought back by the shorters. Nor do we know at what price the shares were shorted
It very well could have been that individual shorters covered 50 to 100k of shares themselves, we just do not know do we :)
So you have about 150k shares you initially was claiming the company shorted but we know there were other people shorting and if an 8.00 maximum profit was made(which could not have been) then your looking at 1,2 milion total which doesnt fit your 2 million dollar claim.
