I think you are gilding the lily. Tax cuts for all, alright... but a huge cut for the richest percentage-wise and less of a percentage cut for the middle class. The windfall for the rich did not translate into cheaper or more abundant goods. Productivity gains did. The richest just pocketed it and ratcheted up their graft for politicians to get even more cuts.
Most of it was to inject lower prices for goods by supplying an overabundance of goods.
I certainly don't recall prices falling or surpluses as you stated, or it to have even been a selling point for the plan. I need to see evidence for your assertion to not just discard it as a pipedream.
Trickle-down didn't work then, and never has. The resultant increase in wealth disparity has basically ruined our economy. If the richest were taxed at earlier levels, the middle and bottom tiers would not have the burden on them as much and the economy could grow again. The policies that allowed the exodus of our jobs are a tragedy... but for you to say that obama is following the reaganomic model is silly.
