Good post and your high lighted areas shows where STWS beats the reverse osmosis (ro). There is energy cost in keeping those ro filters clean that STWS does not have and your other highlight shows the problem of ro putting waste product back into the ocean that STWS does not do. STWS is more energy efficient and environmentally clean. Thanks rdragon.

STWS DyVaR processes brackish or seawater, the cost is about $1,100-$1,350 per acre-foot of water. 

The reverse osmosis in your article is for about $2,100 to $2,300 per acre-foot, plus inflation.

Also in Mentone Texas the DyVaR system is run by solar power!
