OT: re:Naked Shorting...Interesting. I bought some stock in the Philippines in 1986 from a discount broker in DC. I left it in my account but for the last couple of years I have been trying to transfer the stock into my Etrade account and they kept telling me it wasn't transferable. So last year I said just send me the certificate....Even if its in the street name, just sign it over to me for my files.....I have lots of obscure, worthless stock certs. They said ok and they would dig one up. The stock doesn't trade anymore but I sent them copies of certs on the same company that I bought elsewhere and I told them they should have one......UNLESS, they decided to "book" the bet and never bought the stock and just kept my money. I also went on and on about naked shorting and the SEC blah blah. I got a call two weeks ago asking me if I would settle for my money back. Since it went nowhere but "away" in 20 years, I said "well.....I guess that would be ok...." while thinking, WOW.. what a gift!!! I got the check yesterday.....LOL
