It's obvious that the foundries initial Finfet processes are roughly a half-node larger than Intel's 14nm in density.

the ARM foundries aren't competing with Intel (for now)..they are competing with each other. TSMC was the first to 20 nm and reaped the ($billions) rewards..Samsung was the first (ARM foundry) to 14nm and appears poised to do the same. Not sure whom Qualcomm has chosen for their leading edge foundry next year..but they just pre-paid them $1 billion for priority access.

You need to look at transistor drive currents and leakage to get the whole picture.
